10 years ago...

I said "I Do" to my best friend. Ten years. wow.

If you had told me back in 1997 when I met Scott, that I would marry him a year and a half later...and be with him ten years after that, I wouldn't have believed it.

If you had told me that I would become the mother to two beautiful, wonderful children, I would not have believed it.

In ten years, I have become a wife, a mother, a Christian, a woman of faith. I've become stronger than I ever believed, and weaker than I would want to choose. I gave my life to a wonderful man, and he took me, lock, stock and barrel. He's been with me through some tough times, and he is a much stronger man than me, for I would have walked away from myself if I could have; he chose to stay. I'm better for it.

He has been my friend, sounding board, partner, lover. He has been strong, soft, emotional, staid. He has been happy, sad, angry, disappointed...yet he stayed. We've lived in 7 homes in 10 years...we've lived in 3 states (one of them TWICE!) and another country. In each one, setting up our HOME has been the goal...but home would be nothing without him.

When he's gone, I don't sleep well. When he's gone, I roam the house, looking for things to do. When he's home, I'm content to just be in the same room, whether he's working, sleeping or just sitting.

God sure knew what he was doing when he put this man in my life. And there's a song that sure shows how I feel:

10 years ago today...

some cute guy took my hands across a table at Ruby Tuesday's in Stockbridge, GA (at the Southlake Mall), and said he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me.

How cool is that?????

And 10 years ago, I told this cute guy, "yes"....

And soon, it will be 10 years of wedded bliss....two cute (okay...GORGEOUS) kids, and a lot of travel...but hey, we do it together!

My hubby enlisted me to take a new publicity photo of him - this is generally used in the musical programs they use, or when he's guest conducting. We're both happy with the way this came out!

This Man...

For three months and six days of every year, he is older than I am. Today starts that small period.
