well, new to me, anyway....
On a lark, I put a "wanted" ad on Freecycle for a breadmaker. I'd seen several offered, and I replied to get them, but was never selected. I thought I'd give it a try.
I didn't hear anything for a few days, so I figured I wouldn't get one...but then I got an email from a woman yesterday, and she had one she wasn't using. She had received it from a fellow freecycler and it didn't have instructions. She tried to use it, but since she wasn't sure how to get it to work, it wasn't very successful.
I figured I could find the manual by contacting the manufacturer. So began my quest.
It is a Regal Kitchen Pro breadmaker. So I googled "Regal" and went to their website. Searched a bit, but didn't see anything about breadmakers. Went back to to my google search and looked at a few more hits...still didn't see anything. Went back to the Regal site, thinking I'll send an email and see if I can get one that way. I click on "contact us" and the page that pops up says: Regal no longer makes breadmakers and other appliances. We no longer carry replacement parts or manuals.
Shoot! So now what? I go back to my google search...found a website called recipe link and thought I had hit gold. But the manual that was being offered was for EVERY model except mine. Back to google search once again. I found some eBay links. Ooooh...why didn't I consider eBay? Because the person who was selling stuff for this breadmaker is RIPPING people off, that's why! The one store I looked at offered the manual, in a PDF download...for TWENTY DOLLARS. Yup, you read that right. Not even the HARD COPY REAL manual, but a cheap facsimile thereof. No thank you.
Then I find a website...a link...a quick download to a zipped file. I unzip it with fingers crossed. There it is....the manual I needed. And I got it for FREE...(thumbs nose at that eBay rip-off artist).
so, as we speak, a loaf of bread is baking...should be ready just in time for supper. Mmmmm...fresh bread!
