boy debris

this is the only way to describe it...boy debris...the after effects of a play session. Scotty was down for a nap and I was getting ready to pick up toys (something I do several times a day, of course) when I decided to snap the picture and share what I see daily.

Elmo (inherited from sissy): comes out for a few rounds of the hokey-pokey, generally every few days.

The xylophone, a recent acquisition: a daily attraction - it's made to float in the tub, but gets as much wear out in the living room.

The Wiggles mat and drum, more recent acquisitions: not only favorites of the boy, but big sister gets her licks in on these too.

The pile of cars: they belong in the green basket (camoflagued to blend in with the carpet). Christmas was a boon for matchbox cars...the boxes read "ages 3 and up" but don't tell that to Scotty...he ADORES them. Pepere sent 25 of them - awesome collectors cars.

Within the pile of cars is a helicopter and a wooden train. Look carefully, can you spot them? It's rather like a game of I Spy...

And last, but never least: BunBun and green bunny. BunBun is the big white one, a gift from Barbara in Florida. Green Bunny (SUCH an original name, I know!) came from Grandma. How these two managed to be out here at the time the picture was taken, I have absolutely no clue! They are sleepy-time favorites. If any of the crib critters come out, Scotty is usually very adamant they be in his crib before nap or bed time (all toys must be accounted for so that he may throw them out of the crib at least twice a night!). But the bunnies come out together, and are soft and well loved...though not as loved as Bam.

You don't see Bam...it's in bed with the boy. We'll do a story on bam sometime. Suffice it to say I have a nickname for Scotty at times: Linus.

This reminds me of home. Our kids are genetically addicted to some of their toys. And the bedtime routine is often so complex that it makes a space shuttle launch pale in comparison.

Lovely image and entry. We so relate.

It is amazing to be the people who think these things up and of course it makes perfect sense! I'd love to play a musical instrument in the tub, too! I love all his toys...

brings me back to my little doctor's bag of plastic animals. I use to line them up single file. toys were a great joy as a kid. I use to love looking at the Sears catalogue as a child and fantasize.

Aw...cute!!!! But be careful with the Matchbox cars. They say "3 and up" because smaller kids can choke on them. I'm a Safety Nut. ;)

I thought The Wiggles were The Beatles!

We are on blanket #3 at our house. My not so little (she's 5) can not sleep without it. She also has a teddy bear (her size) that she inherited from ME (I got it at age 4) that she likes to snuggle with from time to time.

I'm with Panthergirl on the Wiggles mat. They really DO look like the Beatles!

Boy does this bring back memories! My kids are teens now so their debris usually consists of soda cans and chip bags, but it never does go away. When mine were little, I used to have laundry baskets in the living room into which I could throw everything in a moment's notice.

Thanks for the memories! Michele sent me....

Ya know, Boy Debris never really goes away, it just changes composition. Mine is turning 23 in a couple of weeks, and his room is still a Boy Debris Zone, it's just mostly clothes and DVDs now.

Oddly, the two years he was on his own, I kind of missed it...

here via Michele's!

Hello! Saw your name at Michele's and thought I'd take a peak. It's like looking at my floor two years ago!

Linda, this is the 3rd time I've been here in several days and I just noticed that you're in Bamberg! My sister in law lived there several years ago. She loved it!

Hope you're having a great day. Michele sent me!
