One last trip...

downtown to Bamberg. We went on Saturday morning. Instead of taking the bus, we drove. It was a blessing to have a little car (thanks Julia!) to drive around. Parking in the local garages isn't so bad when you have a little car like the spots are designed for!

The kids were well behaved. We walked along the river, through the Alles Rathaus (Old Town Hall) and down to the market center. We just looked and enjoyed the sites and music. Took a quick trip in to St. Martin's Cathedral to see the "trompe l'oeile" (fresco painted on the ceiling which fools your eye into thinking there's an actual dome!). We stopped by Berganza to get some wonderful wooden ornaments and then headed back to get one last Doner. Here are a few pictures of the beautiful city of Bamberg, a city which will be missed!

Alles Rathaus view from the footbridge....the 4 spires of the Dom (say: DOME), and one of the three churches that grace the upper skyline of Bamberg, along with the Klosterbrau.

Enjoy the last lil bit of Germany. You'll be back in the Land of Target and Chik-fil-a before you know it...
Am praying for you a safe and uneventful passage for all of you.
