stinker...

I'm sitting here this morning, reading my daily slew of blogs...and my son comes downstairs to scam the keyboard (PIANO, not computer) out of his sister's room. As he drifts by, so does the unmistakeable scent that often accompanies the 2 1/2 y/o toddler who refuses to be potty trained JUST YET.

yeah...THAT scent...

So, I ask him the traditional question: Do you have poopy in your pants?

To which he replies: Si.

WHAT???? Excuse me, little boy, you are NOT Diego or (God forbid) Dora...you do NOT answer your mother in SPANISH. And by the way, you are FRENCH...if you choose to answer me in another language, say "Oui!". You spent a year in Germany, how about trying "Ja"?

Guess that is the wave of the future....my kids will be speaking Spanish before they ever learn French. I am going to encourage BOTH of them to learn French in school, if offered...otherwise, my family's "native tongue" will die out with me. (and believe me, it's dying a slow death right now!)

So, Oui, I am off to change the offending diaper now....

LOL! I remember those days well. Except for mine would always deny they were poopy!

les enfants sont le futur s'ils choisissent d'être.

and homegirl....what's WRONG with spanish? You can't get an order right at our local McD's without it.

I spoke spanish before english so I know what you mean about it dying out.

by the way....I was NOT suggesting you thought anything was WRONG with spanish....I was just being goofy.

I tried both French and German - and was awful at both.

Sorry, but I am siding with Scotty on this one.

Espanol es mas facil que Franca y Alleman.

Lo siento.
