Lovin' Spoonful

I have at least 20 teaspoons (or little spoons, as we call them) in my metalware (it isn't silver, so it doesn't deserve to be called silverware!) drawer. If I just put them in the dishwasher after use, we run out before we start the dishwasher. It takes TWO days to fill the dishwasher.

So, can someone tell me why it is that we can use 20 spoons in less than 2 days?

We DON'T all have cereal in the morning...generally only Hannah and Scott do. And he actually reuses the coffee spoon for HIS cereal. But for some unknown reason, by the end of the day, we have HALF the spoons in the drawer. I just don't get it.

I think they're jumping out and into the sink just to make me angry.

I've taken to washing them right away and letting them dry on the drainboard.

And just so you know, we don't run out of ANYTHING else....(other than patience and the occasional gallon of milk)

Any takes on this?

It is the same phenomena of the silverware jumping into the trash!! -- It is supernatural :)

This same thing happens in my house. Come to find out when the kids were eating yogurt, which is several times per day, they were throwing the spoons in the trash too! Accident!! OOPS!!

I went out and bought plastic spoons and put them in a special place in the drawer just for the kids. Probelm solved and I don't care if they get thrown into the trash. The funny thing is that now I wash more plastic spoons than real spoons. I guess they like the plastic ones better!!

We go through spoons like crazy here, too.

But we have cereal, yogurt, coffee, etc. throughout the day when we're home.

It mystifies me when there are TWO in the sink in the morning...and 12 in the afternoon when I get home from work.

I rank this right up with the great mystery of the missing socks from the dryer. Ours are bowls. despite having 10, I'll run out well before I need to run the dishwasher and I cant' figure out why...

We actually had all our spoons dirty a week ago and we have more spoons than anything, so I was really bewildered at how it happened!
