Funny...not Ha, Ha funny though....

A few days ago, Scott brought his work laptop home to see if the wifi card and/or internet cabling would work on it. Usually, it's connected to the milnetwork on post. He was planning on bringing it with him to ABLT before he got the deadly ickies and decided he wouldn't be able to attend. Anyway...on a fairly regular basis, the IMO office on post does a re-imaging of all military computers. They do this to clear off junk and unauthorized programs on computers. Even though the government computers are not supposed to have certain things on them, people don't pay attention and download stuff they shouldn't (I'm not talking about BAD things, but things like iTune, Rhapsody, flash programs, and the like). He'd been able to use the high-speed internet while on tour, but when the hotels only offered wifi, he couldn't use his laptop.

So anyway...he brought it home. When he booted it up, he found about a dozen wireless connections just in our area. He even picked up the wifi spot from Panera for a moment. That's the thing with wireless, sometimes you can't keep the connection for a long period of time. We're not super close to Panera, so I was surprised that we even got the connection.

So here's the ha, ha, not so funny part. The BEST connection, and unsecured at that, was a connection titled CrazyPsychoNeighbor. Why is that NOT funny? Well....when my noisy college boy neighbors moved in, they blocked my driveway and were absolutely nasty to me...and I kind of went off on them. I told them I could be their worst nightmare...a crazy, psycho neighbor. So, it's kind of funny that a wifi connection with THAT EXACT wording would show up. And since the signal was SO strong, I am pretty sure it's the noisiboys...SO not funny. I suppose the expected us to have wifi or something. And chances are, we'd never have known if Scott hadn't brought home his laptop.

Am I going to do anything about it? Nah...as long as they don't block my driveway (my biggest fear is that they have a party, have our drive blocked off, and we have an emergency. When we knock on their door, they either don't answer or are too drunk to move, forcing me to either smash cars on my way out, or figure out a way to drive over the curb without hitting all the utility connections that are strung out along the curb of my driveway as well). And as long as they keep the noise levels down. We've got a few complaints in about them already, and I think they know they're on thin ice. They thought they'd get back at me for the whole driveway incident, but to be honest, I don't play that way. If you mess with me, I go directly to the people who will affect change.

Affectionally signed,
CrazyPsychoNeighbor

Well, at least you made an impression if they went so far as to name an wireless connection after you :)

Now, is this a secured or an unsecured connection? If it's unsecured, I'd say they've got more ego than brains.

We've got a family of wackjobs living nearby, and looking back at everywhere I've lived in my life, it dawns on me that we've ALWAYS had at least one in the neighborhood.

Makes me want to move out to the country.
