We start VBE tomorrow. Most of you know that VBS stands for Vacation Bible School. Our church uses Vacation Bible Experience. Because we want you to EXPERIENCE God, not be schooled.
We're doing Power Lab this year, and lucky me, I get to be the Wacky Craft Lady, in charge of the Wacky Works Crafts and Missions. Once again, God has asked me to step out of my comfort zone, get out of the box and lead kids in a FUN and exciting way!
This is FIZZ - he's one of the FUN guys the kids will get to meet during our VBE. They'll learn bible points, play games, make COOL crafts, and sing the GREATEST songs! (I have the CD, so we've been singing the songs for a week, now!) I'm excited about doing this...a bit nervous too. I'm sure I'll have lots of cool pictures to share, too. Scotty and Hannah are both participating in this. This will be Scotty's first experience with any type of VBS/VBE. Hannah's an old pro, having done 4 now!

Our VBS starts on the 22nd. We're not doing Power Lab but I know a bunch of church's in the area that are. Unfortunately we won't be able to participate because we'll be on vacation that week. Oh well.
Good luck with this! Sometimes it's great to step out of the comfort zone, especially when you are having fun in the process :)
Wow! Craft Lady! Good luck with that and schedule yourself a nice break when your VBE is over, you will need it! Our VBS is in July and I can't wait. I've been busy recruiting unsuspecting friends of Ryan's. Our VBS rocks, with the ENTIRE congregation, from oldest to youngest involved. This will also be Aaron's first year in a real class(just like Scotty!).Up until now he has done the nursery but I believe he participated in EVERYTHING as the young girls in the nursery never really stayed "in the nursery." I will be helping with a class somewhere. We are doing Gospel Light's SonWorld Adventure Park curriculum.
So many of the churches around here (and the kids' grandparents as well) are doing this early vbs. When I was a kid it used to be in the middle of the summer. Now, it is too close to the beginning for us to take the kids. We are still involved in the tail end of baseball commitment.
Power Lab sounds fun.
Our VBS is in July... I am a first time volunteer this year. Our church gets between 3000 and 4000 kids in the two week period. Wish me luck!
Enjoy your summer... and Weight Watchers is awesome! I have lost with it before, too... just keep in mind the outcome you want and it can be so much easier! Wishing you the best with it!
This looks like a great program.
By the way, my guys still love listening to the CD you sent them from the Take the Plunge for Jesus VBS...thanks so much!
Linda,
We used Group for RE at the chapel this year and really enjoyed it.
Have fun with VBE - I like the name.
