Thematic Photgraphic - Water

Carmi's theme this week is water. I have a LOT of water shots...I'll start with these two...taken in Kansas City in May, when I was in the middle of my photography class. They are pretty much identical, except that in the 2nd shot, I set a higher f-stop, so I was able to blur the motion of the water. I think I'll add more water shots as I go this week!

Great shots! Ed was looking on-line at camera prices! I can hardly wait to get mine! It will either be an anniversary present (Sept. 15) or a Christmas present. He found one like yours for under 400 bucks! What kind of lens did you get with yours? I can't wait for us to be able to take photos TOGETHER! :)

Technically, it's not actually the smaller aperture that got you the blur, it's the slower shutter speed you had to use to keep the exposure right with the smaller aperture. Either way, it's amazing how different the same scene/subject can look even with the same exposure (EV) when the settings are changed na?

Honestly I can't decide which one I like better. The sports photog in me likes the first one, the art photog in me likes the second.

Decisions...

I love that first photo, with the frozen-in-time water. I had thoughts to do a detail of that effect, but then thought about all the work that would go into creating it and got lazy. But you did it, so I can just look at yours!

Great shots! The first one is my favorite, I think you can see the water droplets more clearly than in the 2nd one.... they shoot quite high, don't they.... perfect for the watery theme!
