Is it wrong...

to think that a brand new laptop is a perfectly acceptable and GREAT gift to receive for a 10th wedding anniversary present?

We talked about this last night. Scott was all set to buy me some type of "bling" (which, believe me, I would absolutely LOVE!) but we had talked about getting a laptop (if he had been allowed to leave here early - which didn't happen). And so we discussed how having a laptop would make life easier for us, particularly when house-hunting in SC (being able to mark pros and cons immediately about each house we see, etc.)...and he thought we should consider getting one. I'm all for it!

A laptop would make life a lot easier for us in the long run as well...having 2 computers is going to be necessary if I am going to start a photography business, and with kids in school, it's almost a necessity now! Hannah's in "computer club" and is learning to type and get around on a computer...in 2nd GRADE!

On the other side...I already got a gift for Scott...but it is essentially a "family" gift that will live on for a LONG time. I know he'll like it...

Are you kidding? Jason and I are computer-holics so I absolutely agree that a laptop is an AWESOME gift. At first I didn't want one but as it turns out, I use the laptop more than the desktop. I like being able to keep an eye on the kids rather them being in seperate rooms. By all means, get the laptop!

Yeah..that's a no-brainer! Bling is nice and pretty...but you can't DO ANYTHING with it! You could make money with your laptop (photo business) and then buy some bling later!

Actually, they are cheap enough these days, get two one for each of you (it is a TENTH anniversay). Keep the "regular" computer for the kids to play with -- that way, when something goes wrong with your laptop it is your fault and vice versa -- you can keep your business/work/study lives separate and have a perfectly acceptable computer for your kids to be on....
BTW, I guess I missed it AGAIN......Happy Anniversary!!!

Go for it girl! I miss Chad's laptop and actually will be looking for my own in the new year. Then the boys will be able to more or less have this one for school and play.

I think it sounds like a fantastic anniversary gift. Mike bought me one a couple of summers ago and I LOVE it.....great for traveling and actually they transferred all MY stuff it and now I have my PERSONAL computer that NO ONE gets on but me....unless I need it fixed. LOL

Sounds like a great gift. What matters is, if its what You want and will need.
