CRAZY (hair)

This past Sunday was "Crazy Hair Night" at AWANA. Since I am the Director for the Sparks group (the kids from kindergarten through 2nd grade), I really have to participate in order to show my support. Hannah attends the Cubbies (ages 3 and 4, or 5 year olds not yet in kindergarten), and of course, they have the same events too.

I put Hannah's hair up in pony tails. 17 of them! She looked quite silly! And me? Well, suffice it to say that I have a new affinity for Bed Head products...they really helped my hair stand up nice and tall!

I think that the adults in the program had more fun than the kids did! I thought my hair stood up straight, but the woman who cuts my hair (and introduced me to Bed Head) dyed her hair black, stood it even straighter, and painted white streaks (with WHITE OUT!). She looked like the bride of Frankenstein!

I think my all-time favorites were the Kennedy girls, Laila and Katie. Their mom braided their hair in a dozen braids (each girl), and tied a helium balloon to each braid at the end...so the braids floated in mid-air!

Hannah loves AWANA and she is getting good at reciting bible verses...if you give her the first word or two, she can remember the rest quite easily! I am enjoying being the Director, too. Sometimes it is quite hectic, but it has been a blessing to give the kids their awards each night. The joy on a child's face when they earn their first jewel and crown pin to wear - it's worth it!

aaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwww.
that is just too darn cute.

There's some product by Paul Mitchell, I think it's called Freeze and Shine, it's like liquid cement for hair. Try that next time..

I certainly hope you're making a scrapbook page of you two together.

I LOVE the idea of putting helium balloons on the end of your hair to make it stand up! That is pure genius!
