why oh why...

does my five year old insist on waking me up at 6:00 a.m. to blow her nose?

Honestly!

I really don't ever sleep well when Scott is gone. If he's gone for a week, I don't adjust at all...it takes that long for me to get into a stride. So of course, I'm getting little sleep...and then, when I finally have a dead-as-a-doornail night, she wakes me early!

I told her that she needs to blow her own nose...she knows how, she just doesn't WANT to. sheesh!

But at least I went back to sleep...only to be reawakened by Reveille (although, to be honest, I think it's been turned down a notch - doesn't seem quite as loud lately!) at 6:30 a.m., then tried to doze through Scotty's rendition of "oh what a beautiful morning" - sounds like "mama, dada, baba, mama, mama, mama)...then gave up and got up at 7:00 a.m. ugh. Life of a mom....

I used to feel this way too years ago but now that my only child is married I miss those times when she would wake me up and ask to be helped with something. So, enjoy these interruptions because you will never enjoy them once they've grown up.

ahh, I remember those days. My girls are 17 and 13 now. trust me, it will go by fast! (except when they wake you up before their time... then you'd probably want to shoot me for saying this!)
When she was little, my oldest daughter woke me up to inform me that she was bored and couldn't sleep. It was 1 a.m. boredom!! at 1 a.m??? arrrgh!
Thanks for stopping by my site! It was nice to meet you!

I think it's easy as an adult to forget how we perceived the world as a kid. I can remember that blowing my nose way back then hurt and I didn't want to do it. Maybe it was just me tho--at least it doesn't hurt now.

My 3 and half year old does this too. You mean there's no hope of outgrowing it any time soon. :(

Michele sent me.
