photographs and film...

I had a roll of film in my point-and-shoot 35mm camera. Don't know how long it's been there. Had about 9 pictures taken on it. Battery was dead. So, I put a new battery in it and finished off the roll, hoping for the best. The last pictures were taken in September. I know this because they are of my kids and Hannah's hair is short (so it was just after school started). There are a few more pictures on it from August, of the 1ID band playing at "Purple Power Play On Poyntz" - just before the KSU football season started.

So what were the other pictures?

Germany, July 2005. Yup. An entire year passed before I used my P&S again! And the pictures were AWESOME. Of course, I need to scan the one of the Zugespitz, as it came out REALLY well!

But speaking of Germany, Carmi over at Written, Inc. posted a picture of beer...and I had to share this picture from Oktoberfest. Shot taken with a 35mm digital, placed directly on top of a 1 liter glass of beer. Makes for an interesting picture, doesn't it????

And in case those of you who have never seen a 1 liter beer mug would like to get a good idea of the size, check this out:

Yes, it did take two hands to lift it - it was HEAVY. And yes, I did need help finishing it...that's a LOT of beer!!!

I respect anyone that can chug that much beer. "Michele sent me"

Actually Michele sent me, not Karnov--but mistakes do happen.

That's over a pound of beer, Linda. Wow. You gotta figure the bathroom lines in that place were as full as the beer steins!

Hi Linda. You are my hero for taking that mug on. I'd have been under the table about halfway through!

I love these images. I also love the surprise factor of finding 'em on that roll of film. The few times that this has happened to me, the resulting images have always been some of my most memorable.

These days, I guess I'm stuck looking for old memory cards or something - either way, it just isn't the same.

Keep shooting: I love the spirit of your pictures.

I've had a few of those! They are definately intimidating! I ordered one while Chad was home for R&R and I took maybe 4 or 5 drinks and was already feeling fuzzy, so Chad finished it!

If that were a screwdriver, I could drink it.

But I CANNOT drink beer at all. (can't get past the smell)...I know, I am a sissy girl.

It is a pretty glass though. As it happens, my dining room has a German theme (and I have a shelf that has several of those up there.) and Greg can tell me the stories of each glass....

I would have placed a bet with some poor suckers about if I could have chugged that beer and then I would have taken their money and we could have gone shopping.

Call me next time.
