Say WHAT?

Often, when I hear or see commercials for prescription medicines, I have to laugh because of the way the "warnings" are presented.

Today, the Celebrex ad made me pause....

"Blah, blah, Celebrex....blah, blah Celebrex...blah, blah....and then: as with any of these medicines, patients also taking aspirin and the elderly should...blah, blah..."

I don't know about you, but I try not to take aspirin and the elderly at the same time...too much to swallow and all.

REALLY? Did they not LISTEN to how this SOUNDS? I know they need all this legal jargon, but quite frankly, how hard would it have been to say: As with any of these medicines, patients also taking aspirin should use caution, as should the elderly.

Perhaps I should start writing medical scripts for commercials. Because quite frankly, I don't have to worry about taking the elderly and aspirin along with Celebrex....

I love sleep aid ads that warn you that "marked drowziness could occur".

My mom and I are always chuckling whenever we see/hear this commercial.. We've considered trying to get screenshots of it, as they are showing a lot of the narrator's text in the background as lines in the graphics. We are wondering if that text is shown on screen and have wondered many times if the punctuation is missed by the narrator, or is entirely missing from the commercial. My mom is taking celebrex, so we always kid that she should only take aspirin or the elderly. (Not both)
