sunset....

When they burn the prairies, the sunsets around here can be SPECTACULAR, due to the smoke particulates in the air. Hannah said they looked as though the sky had been painted!!! Thought I'd share some of these with you:

1/1250 sec @ f/5.6

1/320 sec @ f/5.6
This picture was taken with a fixed zoom lens that was lent to me by our class instructor - lucky for me he shoots with a Canon, too! It allowed me to get MUCH closer

1/100 sec @f/5.6

.60 sec @ f/36

Your photos are beautiful. I saw your blog through Trying's blog. I would love to add you to my blog roll if you wouldn't mind. I am a new writer for Military Spouse Mag. (June is my 1st issue) and I also help out with Navy Wife Radio. I LOVE being a military spouse, learning from other ones and sharing in their up & Downs. HUGS!

Sorry to double post but I also meant to mention that I LOVE to scrapbook and make cards too! I LOVE STAMPING. My sister in law sells stampin' up but I use others too! Your pages are Gorgeous. Thanks for sharing them! I buy my supplies everywhere and have accumulated about $5000.00 worth of stuff (no, I am not exaggerating) I am a bit obsessed with the whole thing LOL! QVC is having a show on Friday the 2nd(tomorrow) from 9-11am ET and 6-7PM ET I have found many great deals on here but you have to know your prices. Like anything else. Some things are worth it and some aren't but they do have some great stuff on here. Plus I love Lisa Bearnson! Oh yeah, and I met Heidi Swapp inadvertently at a scrapbook store in AZ and didn't know it was her till I left and saw her in the CK Mag LOL! My mom and I thought she was just some overly obnoxious shopper LOL! Long story. We laughed so hard that we didn't know it was her cause we are fans of her work! Anyways, sorry for the ramble and the double post. I just get excited about finding other spouses especially ones with so much in common! HUGS! TTFN!

They are beautiful. Hannah may be interested in seeing some Turner paintings and she can see how right she is.

Living in southwestern Ontario, I'm always torn by the fact that we experience some of the dirtiest air on the continent, and as a result often have some of the most spectacular sunsets around.

The photographer in me secretly finds beauty in the damage we've done to our planet: it makes for more powerful storytelling.

Perverse, though.

Your photos are breathtaking. The colors and textures are mesmerizing.

Well hello! I just got your message on my blog. To answer your question, no I wasn't :) We are 1-63 CAB. Apparently there is quite a bit of command changes going on. Several of the battalion commanders are leaving right now, and our brigade commander is leaving as well. I know that 1-18 is also changing command (or did today, I think). The army is oh-so cyclical at times!

Our coffee group will definitely change, a lot. We are mourning not only the loss of our battalion commander's wife, but also the loss of our close knit group. Several wives who are just *horrible* have decided to come out in full colors to woo the new commander's wife, and the dynamics of the entire group will just change. I don't mean to sound catty, this one woman was blacklisted from the coffee group because she confronted a bunch of enlisted wives who showed up at Gen. Hamm's wife's farewell and told them they weren't welcome and they were a bunch of trash--she is a horrid woman. But now she is back...sigh. It will take some adjusting for everyone, that is for sure!

I didn't realize that you were a member of OCSC as well. I really need to motivate myself to go to the next luncheon. With work and school, it is proving to be difficult to get there!!!!

Hope you are doing well :)
