Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY...Tuesday, May 18, 2010

Outside my window...bright shining sun, currently in the high 60's. I love living in the south!

I am thinking...about price lists for photography, grocery shopping, end of the school year activities

I am thankful for...for friends who care about each other. I have one of the most amazing LifeGroups at church. We don't just "meet" on Sundays, but we are involved in each others' lives all the time.

From the kitchen...very little right now. May make something for supper but haven't decided if we're "eating at church" or not....

I am wearing...shorts, brown t-shirt...

I am creating...yet another baby towel (I have 2 to make, actually), and I'm creating music...working hard on my piano lessons.

I am going...to head to the church shortly to do my weekly volunteering (I print, distribute and organize the orchestra area for the evening rehearsal)

I am reading... I Will Carry You - by Angie Smith. I've read her blog Bring The Rain from nearly the beginning of her story. I Will Carry You chronicles the life (from pregnancy to death) of Audrey Caroline, Angie's daughter. Angie is married to Todd Smith, who is the lead singer of Selah, a wonderful Christian musical group. If you decide to read the entire blog, get a box of tissues. Scroll down the main blog and look on the left for a link to the beginning. OR, you can download Angie's book for free, from Amazon. Click HERE. But I still highly suggest a box of tissues....

I am hoping...that my friend A continues to seek God as she recovers from her recent attempt to take her life. That she may seek HIS glory in what she does, and that God will grant her peace and grace to accept all that will likely occur because of what's happened recently.

I am hearing...the hum of the computer and the birds twittering outside

Around the house...patiently (or not-so-patiently) waiting for the next brood of baby birds to hatch. Mama's been sitting on them for close to two weeks now. We are worried that the eggs may have been "addled" this weekend with the "workout" the door got. We hosted a picnic and the kids couldn't grasp the whole "don't use the front door" concept. If they were in and it was locked, they would unlock it to go out (we have THREE means of egress in our house - front door, garage, and back slider - you'd think they would have gotten it, lol)

One of my favorite things...listening to my daughter play the piano, when she finally "gets" her lesson. We just had our first recital last Sunday afternoon. She was one of the very few who made NO mistakes. It was truly precious. I participated in the recital as well. I made a few mistakes....

A few plans for the rest of the week: Going to work on some cute t-shirt transfers for my daughter's "field day"...for her entire class! Finish the other baby towel, put my house back in order.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

I'm praying for your friend, A.
I, too, read Angie's blog. She's a blessing and what a gift she shares with the world...
