Silly boy...

Scotty just cracks me up sometimes. He is not really verbal yet, mostly still a lot of babble, but he can be understood at times. He's been doing a lot of "singing" lately...mostly some songs from The Wiggles and from some of the cd's we play in the car.

Today, he decided that it was "Hot Potato" day and has been singing and acting out the song all morning. Until about an hour ago. I lit a candle in the kitchen to make it smell nice. Scotty saw the candle and kept pointing to it saying "lie-lie", which means light in Scotty-speak. I then proceeded to put it out, since it was time to bring Hannah to pre-school. As I was putting on his shoes, he started humming Happy Birthday....in tune! So I started singing it for him. At the end of it, he decided he needed to BLOW. Every time we sing that song, he "blows" the candles right after we are done. Silly little guy.

We then went from Happy Birthday to a song called "Smile, Smile, Smile" - only his translation is "my, my, my" babble, babble, babble..."my, my, my"...babble, babble "BLUE!" (the last line is "you'll no longer feel blue").

He warms my heart - he just ADORES music. Can't wait to see what, if anything, he'll play. He's liking his xylophone a lot right now...sits on his knees with a mallet in each hand, pounding away!

I can't wait for the real words to come - he'll be singing at the top of his lungs, for sure!

With Noozie (my 5 year old), we would end up singing 'The Wheels on the bus' ad nauseum. BUT...she misheard the words. I was stuck with 'wheels on the bus are round, so round...' running through my head!
