Thank You...

To all the wonderful Veterans who have served our country loyally. To those who have served, and to those who still serve, I thank you, from the bottom of my heart. May God be with all of you.

Take the time, today especially, to thank a Veteran. When you see an old man in a restaurant or store with a service hat on (they are usually easy to spot - generally dark blue with some gold writing, naming a war, or a ship, or a branch of service), stop him, and thank him for what he did to help this country be free.

Watchng my students participate with such maturity and emotion during our school assembly in honour of the troops really had me moved...we are all truly grateful!

Amen to each and every word, Linda. I was privileged to be in NYC the day they commissioned the USS New York. I bumped into a member of her crew on the sidewalk across the street from the pier, and was able to thank him for his service. We chatted for a bit about why it matters so much, and why more folks need to take the time to let them know.

It was a memorable moment for us both.
